Canadian Clouds in the Forecast: CloudA Merges with Cirrus9
As an OpenStack enthusiast, I have been closely watching Canadian cloud startup CloudA intently as they have grown into a very interesting provider of Canadian hosted cloud services. It was particularly exciting to see their recent news as they announced their merger with another Canadian provider Cirrus9.
Keeping it Canadian, eh?
One of the interesting gaps in the cloud marketplace is the presence of Canadian owned and hosted infrastructure that can be consumed by businesses. Canadian organizations in some business markets such as financial services and health services have specific regulatory reasons to keep their content on Canadian soil.
The new joint venture will be good news for Canadian companies and consumers worldwide as we see both Canadian cloud and OpenStack cloud advancement with the company.
You can read the official press release here at the CloudA blog.Congratulations to CloudA and Cirrus9 on this great news!
