HP Releases OpenStack Reference Architecture: 15 Pages of OpenStack Goodness!
Many companies produce reference architectures as a way to provide specific guidance on how to deploy infrastructure and applications. By using reference architecture designs from a vendor, we know down to the part number what a working, supported design can look like.
OpenStack Growing for HP
HP has made some strong moves on the OpenStack side with their HP Helion private cloud edition, but along with that, they are also fully aware that other OpenStack distributions will be landing on HP hardware at data centers around the globe.
The reference architecture document here from HP is a succinct 15-page whitepaper that shows a medium sized OpenStack Icehouse deployment using the Ubuntu cloud archive and the MAAS and Juju deployment tools.
What makes this a nice document is that is has the hardware specifics, the topology, and the methodology nicely laid out for folks who are familiar with, or just getting started with OpenStack.
Great job by HP on this one and we hope to see much more happening from them to help open the doors to more OpenStack customers on HP solutions.
