VMware NSX, VSAN, and OpenStack
Interoperability is a pretty important feature as we see more work being done on multi-hypervisor, multi-product environments. VMware has done some good work to ensure that they are looking ahead to bring these disparate environments closer together.
NSX, VSAN and OpenStack?
Yes, that is quite a handful of items to put together, but the point of this demo is that you can easily mix these seemingly separated technologies using the great integration between them being driven by the development and customer community.
Using the quick video below you will see how the OpenStack Horizon dashboard is used to deploy VMware NSX overlay networks, and to deploy guest instances in KVM plus additional instances in vSphere and VSAN using the very same interface.
No, seriously, it is just that easy.
Thanks to Rawlinson Rivera for sharing this information about the work inside the NSBU at VMware from the VMware blog.
